Commanders I'd Like to Build

8 February 2026

Abigale, Eloquent First-Year

A recurring theme we'll see with all of these commanders is that they enable me to play strange and terrible cards. Abigale makes inexpensive mana-value cards with strong power/toughness and either no or bad abilities playable. The basic play pattern for an Abigale deck is:

This turns cards like phyrexian soulgorger, or kalakscion from unplayable slop, to truly excellent, game-winning cards. This also allows you to play creatures with decent ETBs, but no other good abilities and still get pretty excellent creatures out of them.

I was passed a copy of Abigale at a Lorwyn draft a couple weeks ago. She was certainly the most impactful card in my deck, and was instrumental in my second-place finish. That experience opened my eyes to the absolute bullshittery Abigale is capable of and cemented my intention of building a deck around her. The current plan is to take apart my Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar deck and retrofit it with a bunch of those bad creatures and more blink/flicker cards to try and make a decent Abigale deck for cheap.

Pramikon, Sky Rampart

Pramikon is a little weirdo. It's game-warping in the best way possible.
